Senior Product Manager Location: Germany | Hybrid

Your role
As a Senior Product Manager, you own a product line at ECI for the manufacturing industry. You will lead all aspects of the software's life cycle, from the development of new features and enhancements to go-to-market and launch plans for the German market. You are responsible for creating a product roadmap and vision, inspiring others to support that vision, and ultimately delivering products and services known for their robust, customer-focused user experience and innovative capabilities.
You'll work closely with our local German sales and marketing team on positioning, launch and go-to-market execution, while collaborating intensively with our international Product Management team based in Leusden, the Netherlands, on portfolio strategy, roadmap alignment, and financial planning and forecasting across regions. You also work with support and service teams to communicate and train on new features and business processes, and directly with customers to identify new software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to competitive analysis using internal, customer and market data to help identify industry trends and unmet user needs.
- Support product management by helping define marketing requirements, communicating release and project goals, and validating developed functionality
- Help develop the product vision and roadmap, and contribute to tracking mechanisms for new initiatives, including input into financial planning, analysis and forecasting
- Assist with creating technical roadmaps and work with development, architecture and user experience teams to build solutions that customers and users will love
- Author user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, activity diagrams, user interface wireframes, class diagrams, business rules and rule flow diagrams
- Prioritise and order functionality based on business value
- Participate in an Agile development environment as a member of a Scrum/project team
- Prepare and present business cases to justify proposed solutions and business investments
- Stay up to date on the latest technology and market trends, and co-author white papers, marketing materials and industry articles that enhance ECI's thought leadership
- Become the subject matter expert within the organisation for ERPs, assisting sales, implementation and account management with customer requests and inquiries
- Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways
- Work on problems of a diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Network with senior internal and external contacts within the manufacturing industry
What you bring
- Typically, a minimum of 5 years of related experience, either in a software/product organisation or within the manufacturing industry itself — for example in a product, engineering or process role at a machine builder or industrial equipment manufacturer in Germany
- A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of the area of the manufacturing industry, within the machine building sub vertical is a plus
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Economics, Engineering or a related field is preferred; education requirements may be satisfied with commensurate experience
- Highly self-directed in identifying and prioritizing personal deliverables to meet internal and external commitments
- Expertise in owning business case, research, needs validation, sizing, requirements, positioning and pricing strategies for a product
- The ability to interact and form trusting relationships with internal and external customers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention and focus on detail
- The ability to lead, negotiate, persuade and compromise
- Superior written communication and presentation skills are required
- Experience working with sales and service in a software organisation
- Technical software/programming experience is a plus
- Proficiency in German and English, spoken and written
- Living in the North Rhine-Westphalia region is a plus, but not required
What we offer
- Salary: approximately EUR 75.000-85.000 gross p/a
- Permanent contract with a 6 month probation period
- Position for 36 to 40 hours per week
- Competitive base salary paid in 12 monthly installments
