Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in empowering and supporting Business Development Representatives (BDRs) by driving execution strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring team success. This leader is instrumental in building pipelines, enabling individual and team growth, and championing the adoption of best practices while achieving team quotas.

Guided by the principle that “iron sharpens iron,” the BDM role is critical in maintaining our competitive edge in the market and nurturing the dynamic culture that allows individuals to excel.

We are seeking a leader who is passionate about accelerating the impact of the BDR program while motivating and inspiring the team to excel on the frontlines.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve Team Quota: Drive the delivery of monthly sales qualified opportunities to Sales Representatives for one of our divisions.

  • Recruit, Onboard, and Train: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development programs to elevate BDR skills.

  • Daily Support & Coaching: Provide real-time guidance on sales strategies, processes, and pipeline generation.

  • Develop Sales Playbooks: Create and maintain a comprehensive BDR playbook with proven sales strategies and techniques.

  • Optimize Outreach Strategy: Enhance multi-channel outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn, SMS, etc.) to increase appointment-setting and opportunity creation.

  • Deliver KPI Reporting: Compile and present monthly BDR performance reports to leadership and internal teams.

  • Refine Messaging: Collaborate with BDRs to continuously improve messaging across all communication channels.

  • Gather Market Insights: Collect and share valuable prospect insights with marketing, sales, and leadership teams.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with other BDR Managers as well as with cross functional partners like Field Sales, RevOps, Marketing/Demand Gen, Marketing Ops, and Product Marketing on all aspects of optimizing how we work together.

  • Technology Enablement: Support the launch and adoption of BDR-related technologies, ensuring effective use.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • 3–5+ years in sales, business development, or similar roles in a B2B environment.

  • 1–2+ years in a leadership or team management role.

  • Background in software sales or ERP.

  • Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with a focus on KPIs and analytics.

  • Proficiency in prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales.

  • Expertise in crafting persuasive prospect messaging (written and verbal).

  • Project management and timeline execution.

  • Effective territory management in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Technical Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Outreach.io, ZoomInfo, Drift, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a plus.

  • Other:

  • Up to 10% travel, primarily for events or training sessions.
